This unpainted VW was a mail-in exclusive through Walmart. I found this in an eBay listing by roblesdiecastshop.

[HUNT] Hot Wheels VW Bug: Speed Fleet Yellow/Orange/Purple
This VW Bug came out in 1989 and is the common version. A rare variant has Yellow, Orange, and Blue stripes.

Saw this blue Beetle on eBay and it caught my eye. This was posted by seller carsandstuff76.

The Sol-Aire is one of my childhood favorites and I don’t have these yellow variants yet. There’s an additional version with solid black windows and a slightly less refined casting.
